Hole # 5

Here is Augusta National’s Golden Bell on steroids. Fifty feet of elevation change separates the tee from the green on this par 170 yard 3. Selecting the right club can be the most difficult part of playing this hole. Anything short will find the creek in front of the green, unless the large lipped bunker fronting the center of the green happily intercepts it. Characterizing the back of the green is the amphitheater mounding and two “grip it tight” bunkers facing back toward the creek. Don’t go long.
Hit the green and have a level putt at birdie and a sigh of relief.
